Students arrested over strike out on police bond

The police in Kanungu district have released on bond the five students they had arrested following a violent strike last week.

Some students of Nyakinono SS were arrested last Thursday for reportedly organising a strike that left much of the school property destroyed.

The students were protesting against poor feeding, accommodation and ill treatment among others. The students according to the school’s Board of Governors Chairman, Kenneth Kanyankore claimed that the beans and posho they were being fed on had weevils.
