Somalia: Truck Drivers Working At Mogadishu Harbor Hold Protest in the Capital

Mogadishu — Truck drivers working in Mogadishu international harbor on Tuesday held complaint protest at main gate of the seaport.

About 60 drivers staged the protest complaining about the administration of Mogadishu seaport, whom they said, are hindrance to their work inside the harbor.

They said the general manager of seaport and the police officer commit daily nepotism and favoritism, adding that they had been refused to transport the supplies and commodities imported.

The administration of seaport was accused of allowing the transportation work only for their relatives and those who are from their clans, according to the protesting drivers.

During the demonstration, the protestors blocked trucks from entering or leaving out of the seaport.
