Police respond to ‘mini riot’ in downtown Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS — What police are calling a “mini riot” broke out on the streets of downtown Minneapolis late Saturday night.

Around 10:15 p.m., authorities responded to a party involving 800 juveniles that police say “went bad” at the Hyatt Regency located at 1300 Nicollet Mall.

Extra officers were called into downtown to help disperse the large crowd.  Police did make several arrests and say they were forced to use mace on some people.

Some property damage has been reported but authorities say it’s minimal.
