Fort Portal students strike

The students of senior 1, 2 and 3 at Kamengo secondary school in east division fort portal municipality Kabarole district this morning engaged police in running battles after they attempted to strike over the teachers’ failure to teach.

The angry students claim that the three forms have never had any lesson since the beginning of third term saying that some teachers only teach in form four.

The students argue that the school administration did not provide the beginning of term exams as it has been the previous terms.

However the head teacher Kamengo SS Bule Abdul refutes the allegations saying that his teachers are not on a sit down strike.

He says that the students have decided to strike simply because they have delayed to sit for their beginning of term exams.

The head teacher explains that the beginning of term exams have delayed because school administrators are still discussing and organizing them.

By press time the anti-riot police was still patrolling the school premises to ensure law and order.
