Custodial death of suspect triggers protest in Chiniot

A man died of wounds in lock-up after alleged police torture in Chiniot district of Punjab, a private TV reported.
According to the details, relatives of the deceased staged a protest and demanded strong action against the police. Enraged protestors blocked Jhang-Chiniot Rod for traffic. The protestors said the deceased’s body shows 29 torture marks. Taking notice of the protest, DPO Chiniot Shahzad Akbar suspended five policemen, including the Station House Officer.
