Two children electrocuted in Peshawar

At least two children were electrocuted and a woman seriously wounded when a high-voltage electricity cable fell on them here in Peshawar on Sunday.
According to Rescue 1122, a high voltage transmission line of 11000KV fell down at Kohat Road, in Khushal Town area of the provincial capital.
Two passerby children were electrocuted due to falling of transmission line on them while a woman sustained wounds.
The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital where according to hospital sources condition of the injured woman was also serious.
Hundreds of dwellers of Khushal Town took to streets against the incident and held a protest demonstration against the Pakistan Electricity Power Company (PEPCO) and blocked traffic at Kohat Road. The citizens held the negligence of the PEPCO officials responsible for the unfortunate incident. The enraged protestors pelted stones at Wapda office and set a PEPCO vehicle on fire.
The protesting people were of the view that several complaints were lodged with PEPCO staff about dangerous position of the pylons and requests to fix the 11, 000 kilowatt cable, the officials failed to pay any heed to their requests.
