TIA workers on strike

KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Around 300 workers have stalled their work in protest, at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday.

The contract workers from different service providing companies have resorted to a strike, in protest against the management and demanding salary hike.

Drivers, trolley collectors and flight announcers are on strike amongst other strike enforcers.

The workers have been on strike since morning without prior notice, General Manager of the airport, Ratischandralal Suman, informed Republica daily.

“They have demanded an increase in their salaries,” Suman further added. Passengers are facing problems due to the strike and if the strike continues then it might affect the flights, opined Suman.
