Hundreds protest over street hawker’s death in Guizhou province

BEIJING, July 26 (APP): Hundreds of people protested in Guizhou  Province on Tuesday against the death of a street hawker allegedly due to torture by city management officers, police said.
The people protested in the afternoon on Nanhua Street in the city  of Anshui. The street vendor died around 1:43 p.m. after having a dispute with city management officers, said a spokesman of provincial police department.
The protestors said they were angry that the one-legged man had been beaten by the officers.
An investigation is underway to find out how the man died, according to  the spokesman.
