Paraguay: Airport workers on strike from Saturday, July 16th

The Paraguayan airport workers union (DINAC) will stage a 10-day strike starting on Saturday, July 16. The industrial action is likely to disrupt several airports across the country, especially the International Airport of Silvio Pettirossi (Asuncion). The International Airport of Guarani (Cuidad del Este) is also likely to be heavily affected. Consequently, flight disruptions, including delays and cancellations, are expected.

Airport workers are protesting against a law approved recently by the government. The strike could disrupt several international flights to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Uruguay.

Passengers travelling to Paraguay or leaving the country are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
