Violence breaks out at Kimberley hub protest

A protest at a proposed gas hub site in the Kimberley has turned violent as dozens of police grappled with protesters blockading a road.

Protesters say they will lay a complaint of excessive force against police after a man was injured and bloodied after going to the aid of his 70-year-old father who was jumped on by four officers.

Earlier today, three Aboriginal leaders fighting against have vowed to step up protests despite the riot squad making a dozen arrests at a blockade.
