SANAA (BNO NEWS) — At least 30 protesters were injured on Thursday when regime supporters and security forces attacked a peaceful demonstration in Yemen’s western province of Hodeida.
The Yemen Post reported that medical sources said that some of the injured were in critical condition. “The protesters were attacked by batons, rocks and rifle butts, and there some injured by live bullet shrapnel,” the sources said.
Massive demonstrations were reported in other provinces with protesters calling for the creation of an immediate transitional council and the trial of those responsible for the killing of hundreds of anti-government protesters in various cities.
In Taiz, a massive demonstration was staged to condemn the continuous military attacks on populous areas and insecurity in the city.
