Inmates of Deportation Center on hunger strike

KUWAIT CITY, June 28: The inmates of the Deportation Centre have gone on hunger strike to protest their ‘illegal’ detention, reports Al-Mustaqbal daily.
Some of them claim they have been at the center for a long time and the concerned authorities have taken no action to deport them. Others said they have been held at the center for more than 75 days and no charges have yet been filed against them and yet others claim they have already served their term in the jail and await deportation.
The daily added some of the persons being held at the Center have Kuwaiti mothers.
Some families of the deportees plan to take the issue with human rights organizations.
