Finnish Railways offers reward to catch Rekola arsonist

Finnish Railways (VR) announced Monday it would pay a 10,000-euro reward for information leading to the capture of people behind an arson attack against safety equipment in Vantaa’s Rekola district on 12 June.

The fire crippled services and led to a number of cancellations.

The police said Monday they continued to treat members of an anarchist group as suspects.

The same safety equipment building was set alight last year, with the arsonist handed a suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay large damages.
