Contract workers holding wildcat strike at Come By Chance oil refinery

Contract workers doing work at the Come By Chance oil refinery during a shutdown have walked off the job and are protesting outside the gates of the facility.

The work stoppage started on the night shift Tuesday and those workers were joined by day shift workers today.

Reports state that about 700 workers — across all trades — are holding the demonstration.

It is not clear at this point what caused workers to strike.

Further updates to come.
