Prisoners on Third Day Strike in Dhamar, Want Ouster of Regime

Hundreds of prisoners have been on a strike for a third day in Dhamar Central Prison to protest abuse by the jail administration, and they are chanting slogns calling for the ouster of the regime.
Some inmates told alsahwa-yemen.net that the prisoners are striking at the jail square, refusing to go to their cells since Tuesday.
” We are being abused and maltreated and the forces attacked us with batons and hot water to end the strike,” they said.
“At the beginning, we protested maltreating us but later some of us started chanting slogans like those being chanted by the antigovernment protesters in the squares of change and freedom calling for the departure of the regime.”
Some prisoners are also demanding their release after they have served their terms.
