Bank Clerk Throws Homemade Bomb in China

A former bank employee who was fired from China’s Tianzhy County Rural Credit Union over embezzlement charges returned to work and threw a homemade gasoline bomb into a fifth floor meeting room. Survivors were seen jumping from windows to escape the fire. The bank is located in a heavily ethnic-Tibetan area that has seen unrest by Tibetans and Uighurs who chafe under the rule of the Chinese Communist Party. Large bombings are rare in China, though in rural areas fertilizer has been used to make crude bombs. Tuesday a man bombed a police station in the souther city of Wuhan after being detained the night before.
