Anti riot Police have fired tear gas as they battled Movit company workers who went on strike this morning protesting poor pay.
Police fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse over 70 workers who had assembled at the company gate vowing not to work until their payments are revised.
Some aggrieved workers demanded that their wages be increased from Sh3, 000 to at least Sh8, 000 a day.
They also accuse the management of failing to provide them with protective gears although some chemicals used are corrosive.
The company located at Nyanama in Wakiso district, manufactures cosmetics products. More details to follow…
