Limpopo University strike continues

It has been a week since Limpopo University Medunsa Campus went on strike and the administration is no closer to resolving the dispute. Students have refused to attend classes because some 300 others do not have on-campus accommodation.

The entire Student Representative Council (SRC) was suspended and banned from campus on Friday because of a previous strike in February, where it is believed they destroyed property.

However, SRC’s Tiisetso Ntsie said despite attempts by management the boycott continues.

“Not only were classes closed but students decided that if there is no meaningful improvement of the situation from the university management, then the whole university will have to shut down,” he said.
