LAHORE: Employees of the Pakistan Post, under the banner of the Postal Action Committee for Anti-Privatization, held a protest rally against the proposed privatisation of the organisation in front of the General Post Office here on Thursday.
The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands. They were chanting slogans against the authorities concerned. PAC Convener Muhammad Aslam demanded the authorities not to entertain such proposals as they could harm thousands of poor working employees and demanded reversal of the decision.
He believed that more than 47,000 employees would be directly affected by the decision. PAC members, including Talat Mehmood Asim, Zafar Iqbal, Rao Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Siraj, Ahmad Hassan, Zafar Wahla, Rasheed Ahmad Gujjar, Rana Ibad, Malik Ashiq Awan, and a large number of employees participated in the rally.
