Electricity workers block lively Amman street in protest

AMMONNEWS – Hundreds of employees and laborers of the Jordanian Electricity company protested on Wednesday in front of the company headquarters in Amman demanding increased wages.

The employees blocked the busy ‘Makkah Al Mukarammah” street, protesting against the company depriving them of annual bonuses, despite repeated promises from the company.

The Electricity sector laborers’ association had issued a statement on Tuesday calling on all sector workers to join the protest in an effort to pressure the company to fulfill their demands.
