1,000 workers protest, demand pay hike

Pay hike sought: Police acted as go-between between about 1,000 workers and company officials when the former demonstrated in front of their company premises in Jahra and refused to work unless their salaries were raised according to a law issued by the government of Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added police acting on information rushed to the spot and negotiated between the officials of the company and the workers for a peaceful settlement of the issue.
