BHABHUA (BIHAR): An irate mob today set on fire a police station while protesting against a trader’s murder in Bihar’s Kaimur district even as police opened fire on the protesters injuring one of them, official sources said.
During their agitation against the murder, the mob vented their ire on Mohania police station by setting it on fire and burning ten vehicles, including a police jeep, the sources said.
The protesters also pelted stones on the vehicle of the Superintendent of Police Umashankar Singh Sudhansu.
Sensing that the situation was getting out of control, the policemen opened fire on the crowd.
Additional police personnel have been deployed in Mohania township to maintain law and order, the sources added.
Details of the damage at the police station are yet to be ascertained.
