Hanjin Heavy Shuts Down Factories Amid Labor Strike

Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction has shut down three plants due to a prolonged labor strike.
The shipbuilder’s lockout of factories in Busan and Ulsan along with a shipyard in Busan comes after close to a five-month labor union strike and a two-month general strike to protest against large-scale layoffs.
The labor union says it will continue its sit-in while the company has extended the period of voluntary resignation from this morning to midnight.
