Tunisia Revolt to Oust Ben Ali Saw at Least 219 Killed, TAP Says

At least 219 people were killed and 510 injured in Tunisia’s month-long revolt that ousted president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali on Jan. 14, Tunis Afrique Presse said.

The state-run news agency cited Bakr N’diaye, who heads the team sent to the North African nation by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. He said 72 of the people killed died in prison fires and violence, according to TAP.
