ATHENS, Greece — Anti-terrorism police in Greece say they have arrested a 22-year-old man accused of taking part in a spate of parcel bombings in November carried out by an armed anarchist group.
A police statement Thursday said the suspect was arrested in an upscale suburb of Athens, carrying a 9-milimeter handgun, two 15-bullet magazines, a replica hand-grenade, and a fake state identity card. The suspect was arrested Wednesday.
The militant group Conspiracy Nuclei of Fire claimed responsibility for a spate of parcel bombings against embassies in Athens and European government officials in November.
Nine suspected members of the group are currently on trial, accused or participation in earlier attacks.
