THESSALONIKI, Greece – Police in northern Greece say a small explosion has damaged the office of a right-wing lawmaker and left a female employee hospitalized with light injuries.
The blast, created with canisters of cooking gas, occurred Wednesday near the centre of Greece’s second largest city, Thessaloniki, outside the office of Angelos Kolokotronis, a member of parliament for the rightist LAOS party.
A second device exploded minutes later outside an association for retired police officers in the city, causing minor damage and no injuries, according to police.
Greek anarchist groups carry out frequent arson attacks and small bombings. LAOS has 15 lawmakers in the 300-member parliament.
