Riot police disperse 30 teenagers on Portland

Police in riot gear had to be called when a brawl broke out as officers tried to disperse a group of about 30 teenagers in Dorset.

Residents raised the alarm on Saturday night reporting a group being loud in Easton Square on Portland.

When officers arrived violence broke out with damage caused to a police car.

Three teenage males and a teenage girl were arrested on a range of offences, including criminal damage and public order offences. Two were later charged.

They were a 19-year-old Portland man who was charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

A 16-year-old Portland boy was charged with criminal damage and a public order offence.

Both are due to appear before magistrates at a later date.
