Riot at Lincoln Hall injures two workers as students go wild

SOMERS – Some 30 students at the Lincoln Hall School for Boys in Somers engaged in a large riot on Friday injuring two employees and leading to the arrests of five boys identified as the mail players in the incident, State Police said Saturday.

The incident, which took an hour to quell by State Police, involved several fights between teen residents. Rocks were thrown shattering several windows.

The two injured workers were treated at Putnam Hospital Center. The five students identified were charged with felony riot in the first degree.

One was arrested as a juvenile delinquent and released on a Family Court appearance tickets. The other four were identified as David Excourse, 17; Cleveland Fowler, 16; Sergio Naranjo, 16; and Shakiem Way, 17. There were remanded to the Westchester County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail each to reappear in Somers Town Court.

State Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
