Protest held for recovery of missing persons in Balochistan

QUETTA: Relatives and friends of missing persons, including women and children, staged a protest demonstration outside the Quetta Press Club on Friday, demanding the United Nations and humanitarian organisations to take notice of the issue.

The protest was organised by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VFBMP) and it was largely participated by angry relatives to mark the International Human Rights Day as a black day. They chanted slogans against government and its functionaries, accusing them of illegal detention of Baloch political opponents. They were carrying placards and displaying photographs of their close relatives who were missing for years.

Addressing the protestors, sisters of Safeer Baloch, Din Muhammad Marri and Wadood Raisani, who were reported to be missing for a year, accused the security officials of taking them hostage for political reasons. They said security forces had picked up their brothers from public places and they were missing to this date. staff report
