Tires On 30 Cars Slashed In Apartment Complex

Oct 17, 2010

Residents at a Citrus Heights apartment complex are fuming after a vandalism spree left about 30 cars with their tires slashed over the weekend.

A witness told police a man was spotted around the cars inside the gated Auburn Ridge apartment complex on Shadow Lane at about 1:00 a.m., and when residents woke up, they found their vehicles sitting on flat tires.

“Great economy to be in to lose $1,500 on some guy walking through and just slashing with no regard to anyone,” said Jivone Hegwood, who had to replace all four tires on his Mercedes.

The Citrus Heights Police Department said they are investigating the crime and have not speculated on the motivation for the incident.

Phone calls to complex’s management were not returned.
