BISBEE — A Mexican judge in Hermosillo, Sonora, has issued arrest warrants against members of the mine union in Cananea, Sonora, for alleged arson of an historic archive on June 6, the newspaper El Universal reported.
The warrants were issued against: Jesus Verdugo Quijada, Francisco Ortiz Muso, Heriberto Verdugo Martinez, Martin Armenta Orantes, Martin Salazar Arvayo, Francisco Garcia Nora and Jacinto Martinez Serna.
The collection included documents of the colonial era related to mining and livestock, as well as outstanding generals in the Reform War and imperialism, some of which were signed by former Presidents Benito Juarez and Porfirio Diaz.
