Workers’ protest in Delhi, roadblocks to hit office traffic

September 14
Delhi:  Another harrowing day for commuters in Delhi as several community based groups, mainly the informal sector workers, are organising coordinated roadblocks and chakka jams in ten different locations today.

They are demanding that displacement of shanties be stopped, recent cancellations of thousands of ration cards be reversed and temporary workers across the city be paid their dues.

Starting 9:00 am, protestors will target office traffic at ITO crossing, Noida Modh, Chandigarh-Delhi highway, Raj Nivas Marg, Okhla intersection and DU arts faculty.
