Police called to control large crowd at Delaware Wawa

A crowd of hundreds gathered at a Rehoboth Beach Wawa early Sunday morning, sending police units from all available agencies in Sussex County into a frenzy.

Delaware State Police said the crowd went to the Wawa, 35436 Wolf Neck Road, shortly after 1 a.m., following a party at the Rehoboth Convention Center.

The crowd became disorderly but eventually was brought under control, officers said. One person was knocked down during the incident and one woman was charged with disorderly conduct.
