Protesters stone car in North West

January 23
About 70 protesting North West residents allegedly stoned a car and attempted to blockade roads in Goedgevonden on Saturday, police said. “The unrest began at about 1pm this afternoon,” said Captain Adele Myburgh.

“One docket was opened after a car was stoned. At this stage, the protesters have not blocked the road and have not thrown objects at passing cars.”

North West police were monitoring.

Myburgh urged motorists driving in the vicinity to be cautious.

The residents were upset about poor service delivery, demanding the immediate completion of RDP houses in the area. – Sapa
