GREENSBORO – Police have linked a second incident of vandalism to a meeting of the National Socialist Movement held here Saturday.
Detective S.K. Flowers said that someone broke out the windows of a vehicle belonging to the NSM while it was parked overnight Friday at the La Quinta Inn off West Wendover Avenue, the site of Saturday’s meeting.
The vehicle was clearly marked with symbols related to the white-separatist group, and police believe the vandalism was connected to the group’s presence.
A second incident vandalism was reported at a counter-demonstration downtown when a vehicle with two men wearing Nazi paraphernalia got into a heated argument with anti-racism protesters.
A counter-demonstrator dented the men’s vehicle. No arrests have been made in either case.
Other than the two incidents, police said the meeting came and went quietly without violence.
